Santos Hernandez, PhD, was Dean of the UT Arlington School of Social Work from 1998 to 2008. Dr. Hernandez established this scholarship fund as a tribute to his wife Carolyn C. Hernandez, who as a single parent of a two-year-old, went back to school and completed her undergraduate and then her master's degree while working full-time to support her daughter and assist her aging parents, all the while being the only member of her immediate family to attend college.

College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs Scholarship. Support to graduate students enrolled in the planning, urban and public affairs programs at UTA. Financial need shall be a primary criterion in selecting scholarship recipients. Established by the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association in memory of John W. Selection of recipients will be based on enrollment in ROTC (highly desired but not required), academic achievement, financial need and participation in extracurricular activities including student honor societies and professional organizations relevant to their major area of study. In addition, Donor suggests that recipients volunteer ten hours per each semester that they are receiving scholarship awards with the Society of American Military Engineers ("SAME") in the form of MathCounts, robotics competition, SAME K-12 Outreach or involvement with SAME UT Arlington student chapter, if such chapter exists. Title: Elbert R. Spence Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Landscape Architecture (UTA Education)

College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs – Landscape Architecture Program. This scholarship was created to honor the career and character of Elbert Spence, architect and landscape architect of Fort Worth, and to encourage and reward the pursuit of excellence in residential architecture and residential landscape architecture among students enrolled in the Program in Landscape Architecture at UT Arlington. Scholarships are for full-time students enrolled in the Program in Landscape Architecture who are Texas residents. School of Architecture The Architecture Alumni Topping Out Endowed Scholarship was established by the Architecture Alumni Chapter of the UT Arlington Alumni Association in 2006 from the proceeds of the Topping Out Awards ceremony. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support to School of Architecture students in Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Architecture and to encourage them to complete their field of study at UT Arlington. The award is intended to be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and competition entry fees for the awardee(s). Applicants may reapply for up to 3 years, as long as a minimum 3.25 GPA is maintained. Title: Dean's Leadership Scholarship (UTA Education)

College of Business – The Dean's Leadership Scholarship is awarded to high achieving, entering freshmen who are admitted to the University of Texas at Arlington College of Business to pursue a business degree. This is a competitive scholarship with limited funding that will be awarded to a select number of eligible applicants. Scholarship funds may be used towards the payment of tuition only (not applicable to fees, insurance, etc.). Entering freshmen with other scholarships and waivers are eligible provided their total award does not exceed $5,500 annually. An in-state tuition waiver is not included with this scholarship. Minimum qualifications: Newly admitted, high achieving freshmen who are currently pursuing a business major at UTA. Must enroll in at least twelve credit hours at UTA (full-time enrollment) each fall and spring. To maintain the renewable scholarship award, recipients must successfully complete full-time enrollment (at least twelve credit hours at UTA) each fall and spring, and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 at all times.

The Philip Barnard Scholarship was one of the first scholarships established exclusively for students in the MSMR Program. Philip Barnard had a long and successful career in marketing research, leading international research companies and organizations before becoming the first CEO and Chairman of Kantar, one of the world's largest marketing research companies. This award is reserved for students who distinguish themselves at UT Arlington. Although academic success is a requirement for consideration, that is only one characteristic of past recipients.
